Join the Lab

We are looking for highly self-motivated students who want to pursue ambitious research in generative AI, agents, and their applications. Prospective graduate students must first complete a research internship with our group before being considered for graduate admission.

Interns are treated as full research members and held to the same intellectual standards as our graduate students. You will be expected to take ownership of an independent research problem and work toward a publication at a top-tier conference. Because meaningful research requires sustained initiative, rigor, and follow-through, we maintain a high quality bar throughout the internship.

What we look for

• Self-motivation and a strong work ethic. Research rarely comes with step-by-step instructions. Progress depends on your ability to identify what needs to be done, persist through failed ideas and experiments, manage your time responsibly, and seek feedback proactively. This is especially important in a new lab, where every member helps shape both their own research and the culture of the group.
• Genuine intellectual curiosity. Strong research begins with a desire to understand why a method works, where it fails, and which questions are truly worth asking. We value people who read beyond their immediate assignments, challenge assumptions thoughtfully, and are motivated by ideas and discovery—not only by short-term outcomes.
• Proficiency in mathematics, programming, and English. These are the working languages of our research. Mathematics allows us to formulate problems and reason about models; programming turns ideas into reliable, reproducible experiments; and English is our official written language for papers, documentation, presentations, and research communication. We do not expect perfection from day one, but we do expect strong foundations and a serious commitment to continued improvement.
